What is the healthiest diet in the world according to area eg Mediterranean chinese japanese etc?
I want to know who has the healthiest diet and why e.g. who lives the longest due to diet in different areas of the globe!
I also want to know what goes into a typical dish/diet of that area eg in the Mediterranean alot of olive oil tomatoes garlic onions fish red wine etc make for a very healthy and long life expectancy! I
haven’t a clue what some areas of china or japan eats to live so long I presume its very little meat lots of low calorie vegetables, fish etc whats in a typical healthy meal for them whats in the diet that’s so good for you?
Also what are foods in general that are known to promote long life expectancy eg olive oil garlic porridge pomegranates oily fish nuts and so on!

Let’s face it – almost everyone dreams of having a nice body. Being fit and in good shape seems to be the status quo of the latest “high status.” Yet the United States has one of the highest rates of obesity in the world. The fact that there’s a burger joint everywhere you turn works against some struggling people’s attempts to stay healthy. For some individuals the craving for fattening foods is so severe it literally becomes an addiction.
However, erring in the other direction, people have become accustomed to being afraid of calories. Although some calories can be bad for you, there is such a thing as good calories, as well. Almost everything that you eat has calories. (Water, coffee, a few other things have none.) What you decide to put in your mouth will determine the outcome, good or bad. Choosing to change your eating habits and involving yourself in thirty minutes of exercise a day can start you on the road to successful weight loss. For those who are already fit, healthy eating is the key factor in maintaining optimum weight and health.
Basic ingredients
Eating healthy is a common sense, not faddish, thing. The main thing to do is get fiber into your diet, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, the appropriate servings of breads and starches, drink plenty of liquids and so on. And healthy foods don’t have to taste bad. There are all types of delicious foods that are low in fat and taste good too. Fresh fruits and vegetables are probably the best choice to make when you’re hungry or want to munch. They can be quite tasty when you jazz them up a little. Try adding some yogurt and granola to a fruit salad, or dipping some baby carrots in a light ranch dressing. The possibilities are endless.
If you’re a “sweet tooth” sufferer, finding a way to fill that void can be challenging. Some have success with sugarless hard candies, or even sugar-sweetened ones, in small amounts. Learning to restrict the fattening things you’ve used as possible “comfort foods, “ and finding at least a workable substitute, is important to long-run success. Remember: The goal is to limit, not eliminate, the most fattening or unhealthy items. You cannot achieve “eating perfection,” so give yourself a break.
In the end, the ultimate decision belongs to you. Deciding to eat healthy is a conscious choice, and if you’re not ready to change your eating habits, it might be hard for you to succeed. There are options available to you.

Of course, if you don’t have to fight your weight, just find your “balance” and carry on – healthily, of course.
Learn to discipline yourself. Have faith in yourself. Believe that you are truly capable of achieving your goals, and you can. With some good decisions, and a lot of persistence, you really can eat healthy, live healthy and stay healthy for the rest of a good, long life.

Have you ever seen how two different paths that seem to be converging from a distance ? This illusion can lead the viewer to think that both these paths lead to the same destination. Only when one walks through either of these paths that one realizes that his or her initial view was an illusion. When people form a group to oppose any righteous person, they are disillusioned to think that they have a common goal. The age old saying that “Enemies of a person are Friends among themselves” applies only to a situation when the person in question is someone who is extremely harmful and dangerous to the society. When a person standing for a good cause is opposed by a group of people, it speaks more about the character of the people constituting that group. Definitely that group harbours all negative feelings like hatred, jealousy, anger etc against that good character they are opposing. Negative feelings are like sparks of fire which would ultimately end up burning the house from where it originated. Thus, the persons who unanimously harbour negativity against a good soul, they are only inviting their sparks of negativity to burn their own unity as a group. he is a russian dwarf, he will be 3 years old in june. he has outlived all of my other dwarf hamsters which i had that only just made it to 2 years. he is still very active, he eats and drinks enough, he goes in his ball a few times a week for 30 mins and he runs on his wheel every night for 6 to 7 hours. he does not act like an old hamster, which id say he is as dwarf hamsters usually only live for 2 years

In the 1930âs, a successful study was able to extend the life of a sample of rats by 33% through limiting the amount of calories they ate. In addition to living longer, the rats had a better quality of life until the end, showing less late-life diseases. They looked younger, and their bodiesâ biological aging process slowed down. The key here is to understand if the caloric restriction in itself is responsible for these benefits, or if something else happens when the ingestion of calories is reduced. In this sense, it has been proven that reducing fat, protein, or carbohydrate ingestion, without reducing calories, doesnât increase life span, that taking antioxidant and vitamin supplements doesnât either, and that varying the types of fats, carbohydrates and proteins eaten, is no good also. Only caloric restriction has shown positive results in slowing the aging process. Thereâs still no proof that it can work in humans, though. Our life span is longer than those of many other creatures. These studies can last a lifetime, and it is not easy to find volunteers willing to spend their whole life eating only what the study allows. However, several studies with primates have shown that caloric restriction indeed increases these creaturesâ health and life span. Through aging biomarkers like insulin levels, glucose levels, and blood pressure, it was confirmed that the monkeys that ate less, aged less rapidly. In these studies, the calories were restricted by 30% to 50% of what the primates would normally eat, while ensuring that they ingested enough vitamins, minerals, protein, and fat for proper tissue functioning. The animals looked healthy and happy, and they surely looked forward to every meal. There are many theories that explain the power of calorie reduction when it comes to extending life, but the one with the most supporters states that the ingestion of fewer calories reduces the amount of free radical damage to cellular mitochondria. Although it may look like reducing calorie intake prolongs life, there are several hazards in this regime: – You should ensure you are getting the right amount of vitamins, minerals, protein, and other nutrients. – You will probably feel hungry all the time. – If the diet is very strict, your bodyâs ability to handle extreme situations, like cold climates or infections, could be negatively impacted. – Women may become less fertile and may stop ovulating, increasing the risk of osteoporosis and muscle mass loss. – It is prohibited for people under 20 years of age. Why has evolution allowed us to survive with so many fundamental weaknesses?
In a purely”Survival of the Fittest”setting,I imagine our ancestors sleeping,eating,digesting food,mating,gestating,giving birth and being born but as a result of these activities being prone to attack and therefore more likely to lose their life.
It seems to me that the most successful organisms should be very sturdy – even if they suffer damage in some small way,they can still carry on as though nothing has happpened; should be ones that contain both sex organs in one body so that no unnecessary contact with other members of the species is required; can make use of their immediate environment for food, water, etc; should be able to withstand relative weather extremes; should live a very, very long life, producing many offspring. So why do we seem to be at the top of the evolutionary tree and not trees themselves (especially since they are used as a simple and elegant model of evolution.)
I’m probably being very obtuse, but I AM new to evolution and maybe don’t know as much as you.
Grapes and Ripe Bananas- The long life diet?
I’ve just spoken to an old guy in Waitrose cafe. He looked no more than 75 but insisted that he was 92. His daughter came along and told me that he was in fact 92. He told me that he owned a fruit shop for 40 years and had always eaten bananas that he couldn’t sell (too ripe) and snacked on grapes whenever he passed the grape stand. He had always done it. He was convinced that it was the secret to being so fit and active AND 92. I asked him if he had ever been ill and he said that he had had measles in 1916 when he was 2 and had had perfect health since! I’m going to try this – what do you think? Good idea or just coincidence?

Eating any kind of fruit is good for you, but you gain a lot more if you eat raw, fresh fruits. Most of the time, you’ll want to eat the skin of the fruit as this is where a lot of the minerals are stored. It also acts as a great source of fiber.
Frozen fruit is next on the list. While fruit loses some of the things that makes it good for your body when it’s frozen, it’s still a good way to get enough fruit during the long winter months if you don’t live in a tropical climate where it’s warm and fresh fruit is readily available all year around.
Last on the list of healthiest fruit is canned fruit. To preserve the fruit in cans, the fruit is usually stored in a thick sugary liquid. You’re still getting some of the benefits of fruit this way, but you also get all the sugar and all the problems that come with a diet high in sugar.
